Why settle for old-fashioned and inconvenient soothing methods? Tranquilo Mat is completely PORTABLE and provides all the VERSATILITY you could possibly need. Designed by a Registered Nurse with years of experience in maternity and infant care, Tranquilo Mat is soft, compact, and lightweight – the perfect companion for today’s busy, on-the-go parents.

Happy baby = Happy parents

Tranquilo Mat is the only portable, soothing, vibrating mat designed for use anytime, anywhere. Unlike vibrating chairs that require breaking contact with your baby, the mat allows the option to continue comforting your baby in your arms. Lightweight and compact, it can easily be folded up and placed in a diaper bag. Tranquilo Mat is versatile and can be used independently or in conjunction with other soothing methods, including baby carriers. The varying vibrations and sounds can be customized to suit baby’s preferences.

The Tranquilo Mat is CPSIA safe and has been tested by a third party laboratory in the USA that is ACLASS accredited. The mat is designed to exceed all CPSIA testing and standards and it meets all international standards for infant safety

How does it work?
Tranquilo Mats contain tiny battery-operated motors strategically placed inside the mat that create customizable vibrations to mimic many of the natural sounds and motions of the womb.

How will it calm my baby?
To understand how Tranquilo Mat calms crying babies, it helps to consider the nature of the womb. The womb is not a quiet place! While in utero, a baby is constantly surrounded by noise from its mother’s body including the heart’s rhythmic pulsing, the whooshing of blood, sounds of digestion, the mother’s voice, and the muffled sounds of activity around the mother. Motions are nearly constant in the form of rocking, swaying, and the light vibrations of bodily functions filtering into the womb. Tranquilo Mat was designed to mimic many of these sounds and motions that babies find familiar, and therefore comforting and soothing!

What makes this different from other vibrating products?
Compared to vibrating chairs and swings, Tranquilo Mat is lightweight, portable, and affordable. While vibrating chairs can be useful in limited circumstances, Tranquilo’s vibrating baby mat’s versatility allows it to be used in multiple settings (i.e., baby carriers, activity mat, swaddle blankets, even in bouncy chairs or swings) and in contrast to other options, Tranquilo Mat does not require parents to break physical contact with their babies—yes, you can use Tranquilo Mat while cuddling your baby!

Another important distinction is that all other vibrating products on the market work by vibrating only the hard frame around baby. In contrast, Tranquilo’s vibrating baby mat delivers comforting motions and sounds evenly throughout a soft, padded cushion, making it more effective than anything else out there!

Tranquilo Mat is the minimalistic option for those who value efficiency and simplicity. No need to buy multiple baby soothing options when Tranquilo Mat can be used everywhere!

Is it safe?
Tranquilo Mats were designed to exceed all standards and tests established by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). In addition, our mats have been tested by a third party laboratory in the U.S. that is ACLASS accredited. Tranquilo Mat meets all international standards for infant safety.

Tranquilo Mat has carefully sought out, tested, and selected only phthalate-free, BPA-free, and lead-free components including all components encased in the waterproof barrier. Common sense safety considerations are included in our labeling and use instructions.

In terms of noise level, remember that a baby is accustomed to living among the varied and constant sounds of the womb, which generally reach about 80-90 decibels. Tranquilo Mat’s comforting white sound is at maximum 65 decibels.

We suggest using the High setting to initially calm your crying baby, and then switch to a lower setting when baby stops crying.

“In the early 1970s, doctors placed tiny microphones into the wombs of women in labor and found the power of the sound was an incredible eighty to ninety decibels (even louder than a vacuum cleaner)!” – From The Happiest Baby on the Block, page 140.

Regarding the safety of vibrations, there is currently no clinical data regarding vibrations being harmful to babies and similar vibrating baby products have been on the market and in use for at least 10 years. Additionally, there have been some studies showing some benefits of vibrations in and older children and adults including the following*:

  • Effects of an eight-week whole body vibration on lower extremity muscle tone and function in children with cerebral palsy.
  • Whole body vibration improves cognition in healthy young adults.
  • Effects of focal vibration on bone mineral density and motor performance of postmenopausal osteoporotic women.
  • Effect of 6-month whole body vibration training on hip density, muscle strength, and postural control in postmenopausal women: a randomized controlled pilot study.

How strong are the vibrations?
Tranquilo Mat’s vibrations have been described as feeling “like a strong cat purr.” You can feel the vibrations and hear them but they are not so intense that the baby is visibly moving with the vibrations. When Tranquilo Mat is on, but not in use, it does notmove across any surface—unlike how old cell phones used to vibrate and fall right off the table!

What white noise options does it have?
The three different speeds help parents customize the vibrations and noise to match their baby’s needs. Some babies only need a little extra soothing so using Low might work well. Other babies need more soothing power so using High might be best for them.

Keep in mind, when a baby is crying, they need some extra soothing so the additional motion and sounds of the High setting might be needed initially but parents can turn down the setting as baby calms. These three speeds (low, medium, high) were also specifically chosen to help parents should they want to wean baby from the womb-like vibrations as they grow older.

The two wave functions (slow wave, fast wave) were designed to mimic the rhythmic pulsations of maternal blood flow—a baby’s favorite soothing womb-like motion and sound.
